    Joey

    Program Dates: 16 Oct 2021 - 11 Dec 2021

    Joey program is designed for Year 1 students in mind. Joey’s will learn the basics of Digital technology, Coding and Internet safety. Classroom will work collaboratively to play and learn different coding techniques.

    Students will explore the digital devices that is an essential skill for the 21st century and this will provide them an added advantage over other kids. We introduce kids to the creative Hands-on coding STEM program and games that will get kids to learn and practice computational thinking, creative reasoning and problem-solving skills. At the end of this course Joeys will create their very own custom game or program that can be shared with Family and Friends.

    Joey Program runs throughout the School year as follows:

    • Semester 1: Term 1 and Term 2
    • Semester 2: Term 3 and Term 4 (Repeat)

    Joey’s will learn:

    • Collaboration techniques
    • Investigation skills
    • Critical thinking skills
    • Problem solving techniques
    • Persistence in the face of difficulty
    • Journaling and Communication skills

     

    Prerequisite: Year 1

    Program Length: 9 Weeks during School Terms.

    Program Timings: Saturday – 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

    Award: Earn CODESTAR Certificate of Program completion

    Students who successfully completes two Terms of Joey program can advance to Year 2 (Wombat) program.

    Wombats

    Program Dates: 16 Oct 2021 - 11 Dec 2021

    Wombat program is designed for Year 2 students. Students will code with Sequencing. loops, events, and conditionals. We introduce kids to the creative Hands-on coding STEM program. Classroom will work collaboratively to play and learn different coding techniques for example translating names to binary, investigate different problem-solving techniques, and understand importance of data. At the end of this course Wombats will create their very own interactive game or program that can be shared with Family and Friends.

    Wombat Program runs throughout the School year as follows:

    • Semester 1: Term 1 and Term 2
    • Semester 2: Term 3 and Term 4 (Repeat)

    Wombats will learn:

    • Problem solving techniques
    • Persistence in the face of difficulty
    • Journaling
    • Debugging
    • Collaboration techniques
    • Investigation skills
    • Critical thinking skills and
    • Communication skills

     

    Prerequisite: Year 2 or Completion Joey Program.

    Kookaburra

    Program Dates: 16 Oct 2021 - 11 Dec 2021

    Kookaburra program is designed for Year 3 students. Student begins the program by reviewing basic concepts of sequencing, loops and conditions. Kookaburra program is shaped to build a strong foundation of coding concepts before opening up to a wide range of new and exciting topics. Students will develop detail and practical hands-on understanding of algorithms, nested loops, while loops, conditionals, and events. At the end of this course Kookaburra’s will create their very own interactive game or program that can be shared with Family and Friends.

    Kookaburra Program runs throughout the School year as follows:

    • Semester 1: Term 1 and Term 2
    • Semester 2: Term 3 and Term 4 (Repeat)

    Kookaburras will learn:

    • Computational thinking
    • Abstracting and modularizing
    • Journaling
    • Debugging
    • Collaboration techniques

    Quokka

    Program Dates: 16 Oct 2021 - 11 Dec 2021

    Quokka program is designed for Year 4 students. Quokka program is an advanced level of coding program that builds students confidence using basic programming concepts, and with this program students are start solving more novel problems. Students are encouraged to work together to find solutions, rather than relying on help from the educator. Throughout this course students will learn to identify when to apply and combine the concepts of loop, sequencing, conditionals, events that they’ve learned in previous programs, followed by an introduction of the idea of functions, Copyright and Creativity. At the end of this course Quokka’s will create their very own interactive game or program that can be shared with Family and Friends.

    Quokka Program runs throughout the School year as follows:

    • Semester 1: Term 1 and Term 2
    • Semester 2: Term 3 and Term 4  (Repeat)

    Quokka’s will learn:

    • Creative thinking

    Pelican

    Program Dates: 16 Oct 2021 - 11 Dec 2021

    Web Development – Term 1 & Term 3

    • Terms begin by thinking about the role of the web, and how it can be used as a medium for creative expression.
    • Students have brainstorming session using whiteboard to chalk down website name, webpage and website content.
    • Students develop their webpage pages and begin to see themselves as programmers.
    • Students are encouraged think critically about the impact of sharing information online and how to be more critical content consumers.
    • Students will learn how to create use styling elements with CSS
    • Students will learn to insert images, video’s to the webpage and link different webpages using hyperlinks
    • At the conclusion of the term, students compile their work to create a personal website they can publish and share.

    Students will learn to how to code-to-decode the real-world problems with the help of problem-solving techniques and discuss societal impacts of computing and the internet.

    Mobile App Development – Term 2 & Term 4

    This Term students will introduce to first step in Mobile application development. This program will develop the cognitive maturity in the kids to think about plans that they want to bring to life using Mobile Application.

    Students will build and share their own apps using features like buttons, text, images, sound, and screens. Project can be shared with family and friends.

    Students will learn to:

    • Setup different screen properties of the application
    • Make application interactive
    • Include button, text, sounds, images and videos to the application
    • Learn design mode and different tools and UI controls
    • End of the term students will share project app with family and friends
